Our work in Rome
Visitors to Rome usually have more invitations than time. The embassies, the United Nations food agencies, the ministries, the Vatican and the film studios at Cinecittà bring a steady stream of people who spend the day in meetings and the evening in a city made for company. They are the ones who write to us: diplomats on short missions, producers, lawyers, collectors, engineers between two flights.
What we aim for is the Roman feeling: nothing rushed, nothing announced. A companion meets you in the courtyard of your hotel, you stroll up to the Aventine to look through the famous keyhole at the dome of St Peter’s, and dinner happens when it happens. Every evening is planned individually with a single manager, and your plans stay with that one person.
Rome has kept secrets for centuries; we only have to keep yours. Nothing you tell us is ever passed on.
What every Rome booking includes
A manager is on duty day and night, on Sundays and right through August.
Your first message is answered within minutes, not after a long Roman lunch.
Profiles show genuine, recent photographs, so there is no guesswork when you choose.
The fee is agreed before you meet and does not move by a single euro afterwards.
We never write first: no newsletters, no special offers, no reminders once you have left.
Each evening is planned around you, from the neighbourhood you prefer to the kind of table you like.
Plan your
Roman evening
A short message on WhatsApp or Telegram is enough to begin. Tell us when you arrive, and we will arrange the company at a Roman pace, only quicker.
Companions with a Roman sense of time
The women we introduce in Rome are good at slowing down. They will happily linger over a second coffee in Monti, take the long way along Via Giulia or wait on the Pincio terrace while the light turns gold over Piazza del Popolo.
Formal evenings suit them just as well. A charity dinner in a palazzo, a premiere, a table at the Rome Cavalieri high on Monte Mario: your companion arrives dressed for the occasion, keeps up the conversation and never draws more attention than you want.
Questions
about meeting in Rome
Can we visit the Vatican Museums together?
Yes, and it is one of the afternoons guests ask for most. Buy tickets well ahead, especially in spring and autumn. Your companion meets you near the entrance on Viale Vaticano, walks through the galleries and the Sistine Chapel with you, then on to lunch in Prati.
Is EUR too far from the centre for an evening out?
Not at all. EUR hosts many of Rome’s big congresses at the Nuvola, and the evenings after them tend to be long. Your companion can meet you when the sessions end and join you for dinner in EUR itself or back in the historic centre.
What happens in Rome around Ferragosto?
In mid-August many Romans leave and some restaurants close for a week or two. The city is hotter and emptier, which some visitors love. We stay open 24/7 all summer, and the manager will suggest places that are open and companions who are in town.
Where is the best area for an evening walk?
Our favourite route starts in the old Jewish quarter by the Portico d’Ottavia, crosses to Tiber Island and climbs the Aventine for the view. It is calm, beautiful after dark and ends close to good restaurants. Your companion can suggest others depending on your hotel.
How should I describe the evening I want?
In a few lines: the date, your area, the occasion and the sort of company you enjoy. A trattoria supper in Testaccio calls for a different mood than a gala in a palazzo. The manager reads it carefully and replies within minutes with companions who fit.
